Hayden's Ferry Review would like to feature a graphic narrative in our next issue. (Submission window closes 11/20/2017.) Submission deadline will not be extended.
This feature will have a central role in this edition so we are looking for something with presence, something that stuns us either visually or narratively, but ideally, on both fronts.
We'd love to see your avant-garde or unique work, your strange, or your traditional. We want to see it all. We are especially interested in somewhat longer narratives given that this is our long issue.
Graphic Narrative does not mean graphic sex or violence but rather a shorter graphic novel. A Graphic novella if you will. That is to say, a poem or story with visual elements, probably art and drawings, but not necessarily. We are open to interpretation but pieces submitted in this category which are strictly text will be rejected without reading.
We will accept pieces up to 25 pages in length.
We will only select between one and five narratives for this issue. We do not accept work that has been previously published either in print or online. We do accept simultaneous submissions but ask that you withdraw the submission immediately upon acceptance elsewhere.
Decisions on acceptance will be sent by 1/1/2017.
